What We Do

At United Way of the Golden Triangle Region, we are the heart of community support, empowering local agencies and mobilizing resources to make a difference. Our mission is to be a catalyst for positive change by providing essential funding, coordinating initiatives, and responding to community needs throughout the Golden Triangle Region.

So, what do we do?

1. Empower Local Agencies: We partner with a variety of local nonprofits, enabling them to deliver essential services directly to those in need. By providing financial support and strategic guidance, we help these agencies thrive and expand their impact.

2. Drive Community Initiatives: We spearhead collaborative community projects that address critical issues, from education and healthcare to economic stability. Our role is to convene, coordinate, and invest in initiatives that create lasting improvements in our community.

3. Respond to Disasters: In times of crisis, we spring into action to support our community. We work closely with local Emergency Management Agencies (EMA) and first responders to organize and direct spontaneous and unaffiliated volunteers. We also partner with affiliate organizations to establish drop-off locations for donations, food, and shelter, ensuring that immediate needs are met effectively.

4. Mobilize Volunteers and Resources: We connect individuals, businesses, and resources to causes they care about. Through volunteer opportunities and corporate partnerships, we harness the power of the community to drive collective action and solve local challenges.

5. Advocate for Change: We work tirelessly to raise awareness and advocate for solutions to the most pressing issues facing our region. Our goal is to influence policy and foster a community environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

6. Ensure Accountability: We ensure that donations are used effectively and transparently. We rigorously evaluate and monitor the programs we fund to make sure they deliver measurable results and real benefits to those they serve.
